In Memory Of
This page is a means of remembering fellow classmates, teachers, friends and loved ones while providing financial support for Havre schools, students and teachers through scholarships or grants. All classes, individuals, families or groups are welcome to use this link to remember those who are "gone but not forgotten."
Your donation “in memory of” or “in honor of” can be designated for:
- An existing Scholarship awarded by the Board of Directors.
- Small Grants that are awarded as requested (approval and amount at the discretion of the Board of Directors).
- HPSEF general fund (the contributor and memorial will be acknowledged in the quarterly newsletter and on the website).
- A new, one-time or annual scholarship
When making a donation, please send your check to HPSEF, PO Box 7791, Havre, MT 59501. Donors can be an individual, or group such as a graduated class, club, organization or family.

Doris Roberts has made a very generous donation to HPSEF in memory of her husband Wayne Thurston. The Wayne Thurston Memorial Scholarship has been established with the funds, $2,000. annually is offered to Hill County schools graduating seniors.
Henry ‘Hal’ Gilmore was a resident of Havre and a student of Havre Public Schools many years ago. His estate has sent funds to HPSEF because of his fondness for Havre and his school years here. There has been a scholarship established with the funds, a $1,500. award offered to a Havre High graduate for 3 consecutive years.
Memorials in honor of Eunice DeRosa have been donated to HPSEF in the form of a scholarship offered to a music student of Havre High graduating class of 2019. The Estate of Horace & Jeanette Borchert have sent a generous donation to HPSEF. The funds will be used for a scholarship for a HHS graduating senior. The Borchert’s were educators in Havre Public Schools and MSU-Northern. The first award will be offered in the spring of 2021, the HPSEF scholarship committee are working on details for the scholarship award.
The HPSEF is the benefactor of a substantial contributions from the estate of Kathryn Green. The Foundation is very grateful for her generosity, we will be able to help students and educators of Havre Public Schools in many different directions. More information will be available when the Board of Directors decides best how to best utilize the funds from Kathryn.
